Just what does "Bikabele" mean?
Bikabele was founded by four West Australian friends in August 2003.
By taking the first 2 letters of each of our Christian Names as follows....
Bill Kay Bev Leanne Bi Ka Be Le
- we simply came up with the name Bi-ka-be-le (Bikabele).
We then needed a 'mascot' and decided on a Bear, in keeping with our mission to work with children, and so we found and adopted our beloved "Bikabele Bear" mascot, complete with heart in hand.
The bright coloured border sometimes seen around our Bikabele Bear, or in latter times, our brightly coloured 'ribbon' symbolise the colours of the rainbow.
It is our shared dream at Bikabele Cares for Kids (Inc), to allow some needy disadvantaged, disabled and orphaned children to discover there are rainbows in this world, and help lead them to a better life than they may of otherwise experienced. For some of these children, it is only with our help, given through your support, that they will ever openly smile and laugh, and realise the true beauty of the colours in a rainbow.
"Providing rainbows and smiles to the world of disadvantaged, underprivileged and orphan children"
