1. What are the Costs to Sponsor a Child

Bikabele Cares for Kids (Inc) seeks individual, family or group sponsorship for each new child in the Hearing Aid Program.

The current total cost is a once-off fee of AU$990 per child as a complete package of assistance.

Although not compulsory as part of the sponsorship, Sponsors are welcome to assist with their child's ongoing costs after the initial 12-month period, should they wish for ongoing tests, hearing aid maintenance, battery supply etc. Generally these costs are approximately A$150 per annum. Bikabele will fundraise to otherwise support your child in the program to continue their treatment and maintenance of aids.

2. What does the Sponsorship cover?

The complete package Sponsorship covers:

All initial audiology testing, ear checks and assessment
Supply of 2 individually calibrated BTE Hearing Aids
Manufacture of moulds/tubes to fit child's ear
Professional fitting of the hearing aids and re-testing
Speech therapy for a 12 month period
Full Hearing Aid maintenance for a 12 month period
Battery supply for a 12 month period
Ear checks by Audiologist team for a 12 month period

3. What interaction or involvement can I have with my sponsored child?

Yes. We encourage all Sponsors who have the ability, if they are planning a trip to Bali, to visit the orphanage and meet their sponsored child. We guarantee the experience will not only be emotional, but give a sense of sheer enjoyment and satisfaction that will far outweight the relatively small cost of participating in the programme, and giving your young child the ability to hear laughter and song through the gift of hearing.

It can be arrange for Wayan or Komang, our father/son drivers in Bali, to organise with the relevant Orphanage for your visit, and if you wish you can hire one of them as your driver to take you along to meet your child. Wayan or Komang will happily translate for you during your visit so you can ask any questions you wish and get feedback direct.

You may feel free to visit your child as often as you are able. The more you meet with them, the more they will come to understand just what an important role you are playing in their lives. The rewards you will receive back from that child's love for you and their appreciation, will be worth every single cent of the cost of sponsorship.

4. Will I receive updates or photos of my child?

Yes. We are excited about our newly launched (December 2012) website.
This is a vastly improved tool to keep us up to date with your child's progress.

Go to the "Hearing Aid Program" Page of the website (under Our Projects);
Scroll down to the second half of that page to where all the children's photos are;
Click on your child's photo/name to open up their very own page, where we can give updates as they come through, and also post new photos as we take them or receive them.

5. I am interested - How do I go about sponsoring a child?

Very simple -

Just click on to the green "Donate Now" button to the right hand side of most pages, and follow the information given.

Alternatively, go to the "Contact Us" page of the website and send us a message there expressing your wish to Sponsor.
Or send an email to us on "crew@bikabele.com.au" expressing your wish

Either way we will be back in personal contact with you to discuss further.

This is a wonderful example of how Bikabele works, where all concerned can be involved directly and see the benefits first hand knowing that 100% of every dollar contributed goes direct to the assistane of the sponsored child.

6. Am I able to give gifts to my child?

Yes you may.

Giving consideration to the other children at the orphanage, we recommend gifts not to be of huge value, and to be honest, these children are extremely appreciative of even the smallest little gift. Perhaps include a photograph of your family or group for them as well.

If you are planning your own visit, you may take a gift along and give to your child yourself.

Bikabele Founders visit the orphanages usually between 2 and 4 times a year. You may prepare a gift and deliver it to us (in Perth, Western Australia) and we will happily take it along next time we visit and present to your child. We will take photographs of your child receiving and opening their gift and send back to you. This is, so long as your child is present on the days we visit their orphanage, of course. Or we can hold it over until next time we return to Bali to visit. Contact us through the "Contact Us" page anytime at all.
